The subject of the Operation is the in-depth research of the School Dropout (SD) phenomenon and the design of horizontal actions and ad hoc interventions to tackle this negative social phenomenon. Reduction of school dropout has consequently a positive impact on the Early School Leaving (ESL) index, which is recorded statistically by the Hellenic Statistical Authority on behalf of the European Statistical Authority, and is an evaluation indicator for the quality of education and the social conditions. Within the framework of the act a series of studies expertise, methodology development and specialization of actions in order to achieve the desired results are expected to be conducted aiming at:
- scientific documentation of the designed actions aiming to tackle the phenomenon of School Dropout and consequently Early School Leaving.
- the development of a mechanism for proper and comprehensive registration and monitoring of School Dropout with the use of reliable and representative indices.
- drawing scientific conclusions, which will lead to the adoption of measures for the prevention and containment of the phenomenon.
Educational materials will also be developed and will be made available to the entire educational community through a special portal.
The Operation is systemic, and therefore the entire educational will benefit from it.
